Jerkbait (floating)
Long, slender, and weighted toward neutral. This archetype floats: the Tank cannot yet build a stable suspending bait, because its righting moment scales with net buoyancy, which goes to zero exactly at neutral. A real suspending jerkbait is a known gap in the model.
What is a jerkbait?
A jerkbait is a slender minnow-shaped lure worked with changes of retrieve or rod motion. This Tank version floats; the model tests its steady retrieve, but does not simulate the dart and pause that define a real jerkbait presentation.
What the model actually measures
The grid uses 1 cm cells. The Tank computes displaced water, centre of mass, lip force, tracking stability and wobble at its default retrieve speed. It does not predict a running depth or a catch rate. See the equations and limits.
ABS shell, twelve cells long and two deep, five tungsten slugs low, a single-cell lip on the nose, two hook hangers.
Tank verdict: Swims
Swims. A tight, tail-only wobble at slow tempo — subtle. Finesse territory.

Compare with the trout minnow
Both designs run through the same Tank model at its default retrieve speed. These figures describe the block builds shown here, not commercial lures.
